Summit on the Future of Missouri Outdoors

When the Conservation Federation of Missouri undertook a 75-year visioning summit of 150 of Missouri’s outdoor leaders, DJ Case was called upon to help. We conducted a pre-summit web-based survey of 300 conservationists exploring natural resource issues, results from which helped inform the summit's content and program. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and Yale professor Dr. Stephen R. Kellert kicked off the program highlighting future sociocultural changes in the state. Attendees identified the top 10 actions required to ensure the future of a quality Missouri outdoors. To achieve this group-participatory product, DJ Case used real-time polling software, allowing each participant to use a voting keypad to answer questions, results of which were then automatically tabulated and displayed so attendees could immediately see the sentiment or will of the group - an extremely popular process and technology among summit attendees.
