As vice president, Phil blends a sharp expertise in communications
and biological sciences. His primary role and passion lie in
directly managing projects nationwide. He speaks the language of
biologists and resource personnel, conveying their messages to
clients’ audiences.
Phil addresses outreach issues through focus groups, meetings and
workshops. He is author of more than a dozen books and handbooks,
including wildlife viewing guides for Michigan and Indiana. Phil
has organized statewide partnerships and stakeholder initiatives
involving numerous partners with diverse interests.
A
leader in efforts and research involving hunting and angling
recruitment and retention, he has spearheaded projects for the
National Shooting Sports Foundation, as well as the Recreation
Boating and Fishing Foundation.
Phil holds a bachelor's in forestry from Purdue University (where
he was captain of the rifle team) and a master's in wildlife
biology from University of Missouri. He is a certified wildlife
biologist through The Wildlife Society. Phil is an Indiana hunter
education instructor and member of the Citizen's Advisory Board
for the state's Turn In a Poacher/Polluter program.
