As senior project manager in the Washington, D.C., region, Bob Byrne has more than three decades of experience in natural resource issues and outreach. Bob is our point-man for conservation leaders within the Beltway.
Before joining DJ Case in 2007, Bob guided Safari Club International Foundation’s conservation programs in Africa, Asia, Central and North America and New Zealand. His focus was long-range, strategic planning, budgets and program implementation.
From 1990 to 2004, Bob worked for Wildlife Management Institute, a wildlife think tank organization addressing conservation policy, legislation and budgets. His work centered on hunter education, access, recruitment and retention, plus shooting range management and environmental impacts of lead ammunition.
Between 1973 and 1990, Bob served stints with Illinois Department of Natural Resources, New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, and Washington Department of Wildlife, where he concentrated on information and education, field research and wildlife management.
Bob earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife management and forestry from University of West Virginia in 1973. He has won recognition from the International Hunter Education Association, Safari Club International, Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute, and Wildlife Management Institute for exemplary contributions to conservation.
