U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Status of Waterfowl Video

In July of each year, DJ Case partners with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to produce a video companion piece to the annual "Status of Waterfowl" report. The printed report contains habitat and population estimates derived primarily from the spring Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Survey conducted in May and June. The video is produced as a sort of "Executive Summary" for the report--providing the basic estimates, overview of expectations for the year, and interesting anecdotes and observations from pilot biologists and ground crews that actually conducted the survey.

The "Status of Waterfowl" video is posted to the Flyways.us website alongside the printed report, and is used by Flyway Councils, agencies and organizations to help them communicate survey results to hunters, waterfowl enthusiasts and other interest groups. The video is also meets federal Section 508 ADA requirements through the inclusion of Closed Captioning titles.
